UNIT VOCABULARY:
UNIT DEFINITIONS:
1. Mountain range: It’s a lot of mountains which are
close together.
2. Cave: It’s a big hole in a mountain or
under the ground.
3. Glacier: It’s made of ice. It moves very
slowly.
4. Desert: It’s a very dry place. There isn’t
much water. There aren’t many plants or animals.
5. Waterfall: It’s a place where a river falls off
a mountain or a cliff.
6. Cliff: It’s like a very tall wall made of
rock.
7. Valley: It’s the place between two
mountains.
8. Volcano: It’s a dangerous mountain. Sometimes,
it erupts and very hot rock comes out.
9. Rainforest: It is a very big place where there
are lots and lots of trees, plants and animals.
10. Island: It’s a small area of land in the middle of a river, a
lake or a sea.
